Values as advantage

Every company you can name started with good intentions. Many of them ended up somewhere else. The interesting question is not whether people turn bad. Mostly they do not.

Values do not rot because people turn bad. They rot because holding them costs energy, every day, forever, and not paying is the default. Any plan that amounts to “we will keep meaning it” is a plan to drift.

This piece is about the alternative: arranging things so the good move is also the winning move, and being honest about where that argument is weakest.
